Autumn is upon us. The air is getting crisp. The leaves are changing. And LexDAO is still vanquishing evildoers across the cosmos. Moves are being made and big changes are on the horizon, so we are bringing you the LexDAO 2024 Back to School Newsletter! Keep reading to see what we have in store!
What’s New at LexDAO
LexDAO is Making Your Life Better
The little gnomes at LexDAO are never content to rest on their laurels. They constantly strive for greatness. It just so happens that their idea of greatness involves eating the souls of the feeble minded. But fear not! We have been successful in keeping them pacified with a number of tasks meant to improve LexDAO’s governance and member experience. Well, mostly successful. We are still ironing out the kinks.
Here is what we have been up to and what changes you can expect about our onboarding and governance processes.
LexDAO Onboarding and Governance Overhaul
We have heard you loud and clear and we are making improvements to LexDAO’s onboarding process for new members. LexDAO will begin hosting monthly onboarding, Q&A, and new member calls on the first Wednesday of every month. We encourage any members and all members to join us for our governance calls on Discord (in the sidebar-meet-live channel) on October 2 and November 13, 2025 to get more information about these calls and how they will happen.
Going forward, LexDAO members will also receive a welcome email with information about LexDAO giving better clarity on our mission, what membership means for you, what 501(c)(6) means for us, and the benefits and opportunities we offer. Among the benefits are ways you can get your work published or be interviewed for a feature in our newsletter. Existing members will be getting this same information once it is rolled out, too. And all of these points will be covered at these upcoming governance meetings, so you can get the details very soon (and live!) if you just cannot wait to hear what we have to say.
We are also discussing changes to LexDAO’s governance process from top to bottom. If you or your loved ones are experiencing pain or difficulty understanding what your LexDAO membership can do for you, or if you have requests—maybe you want our bi-weekly governance meetings scheduled on a different day or at a different time—or ideas on how we can continue to make it easier for our members to participate in current events, please reach out to us on the #membership channel on Discord to tell us what you think and get involved!
Elections for All
LexDAO will be holding elections for the Operator and Assistant Operator roles and for spots on the Operating Committee and Communications Committee. Nominations will are ongoing until voting starts on October 2, so make sure to throw your name in the hat if you think you have what it takes to carry LexDAO to greatness (or, you know, you just want to help out). Whatever your motivations, everyone is welcome to join and participate in making LexDAO the greatest guild of legal engineers in the universe!
Upcoming Events
LexDAO Study Group: CASPs in MiCA
LexDAO’s very own Paolo Maria Gangi is hosting another Study Group session on October 2, 2024 at 7:00 PM CEST/1:00 PM EST where we will discuss the rules governing Crypto Assets Service Providers. Paolo will moderate the panel and be joined by: Vyara Savova from EUCI, Marina Markezik the founder of EUCI, LexDAO member Dimitar Vochev, and Jonathan Galea.
